The Morris Braves are your 2023 IVC East Conference Scholastic Bowl Champions! On Wednesday evening, the Braves welcomed Wilmington, Reed Custer, Coal City, and Channahon for the annual IVC East Tournament. As the #1 seed, the Braves took on Reed Custer to start their evening, earning a resounding 315-90 victory over the Panthers to move on to the championship round vs. Channahon, who won an incredibly close tiebreaker match against Coal City. The Braves and Indians fought it out over the buzzers in a fantastic back-and-forth match, and with the match tied up at 200, Morris claimed the last 3 tossups to seal the deal, defeating Channahon 265-205 and earning their first conference title since 2013. Excellent work, Braves!

This morning, district personnel were notified of unknown individuals at Morris Grade School. We contacted the Morris Police Department for them to investigate, and they determined individuals in question left school grounds prior to student arrival and posed no threat. The two people in question were individuals who were supposed to be at the Shabbona building, but they came to Morris Grade School by mistake. The Morris Police Department located their vehicles at Shabbona and confirmed the individuals were not at the correct location.
Our staff is focused on providing a safe environment, and we'll continue to take all situations seriously. We also want to thank the Morris Police Department for their continued partnership with our school.
